The Gods Are All Here Engagement Programme
Following a successful Welsh tour in 2021-2022 and performances at Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival and Scottish Storytelling Festival. Phil Okwedy's The Gods Are All Here will be touring across England in autumn 2023.
Sparked by the discovery of a series of letters from his father in Nigeria to his mother in Wales, The Gods Are All Here is a compelling, funny and warm, one-man performance from first-class storyteller, Phil Okwedy.
This captivating performance storytelling piece skilfully weaves myth, song, folktales and legends of the African diaspora with an astonishing personal story that uncovers Phil’s experiences of growing up as a child of dual heritage in 1960 & 70’s Wales.
Alongside the tour of The Gods Are All Here in autumn 2023, we are supporting four venues/areas of England to deepen the engagement with the themes around the show.
We are delivering workshops and talks to groups, schools, participants and audiences in Wolverhampton, Bristol, Derby and London, which also have performances of the show in October and November 2023.
