May News: Adverse Camber goes Transnational

Spring is a busy hatching time for Adverse Camber, we’re now looking ahead to an eventful autumn and making plans for 2018 and beyond. We've been talking to artists, partners and funders about what they want to see happening over the next few years. We've been pouring through your feedback from our recent tours and because inspiration can come from all kinds of sources, we'd also love to hear from you directly about what you would like to see, so please get in touch and share your own wish lists! Meanwhile, it’s almost time for the summer Storytelling Festival season– and we’ve exciting news ahead on that front too! Zwolle Unlimited We’re delighted to be visiting the Netherlands in June, hopping over the channel to take Dreaming the Night Field: a legend of Wales with Michael Harvey, Lynne Denman and Stacey Blythe to the Zwolle Unlimited Festival from 2 – 4 June 2017. Zwolle Unlimited is a festival that is international at heart, bringing the best theatre, street theatre, storytelling and roots music plus a massive book market to the beautiful and historic city of Zwolle. Interestingly, following each performance you are presented with a “golden hat” to pay what you think the performance is worth, no more, no less – so the Festival is definitely worth a gamble for those of you who fancy making the trip. Their theme for this year is travel and trade – very relevant for our times! There are two chances to see Dreaming the Night Field during the festival, plus other solo pieces by Michael, Lynne and Stacey performing together as Ffynnon and a collection of stories and songs featuring all three ‘Searching for Arthur’ over the weekend. Find out more about these performances and the whole festival and on the Zwolle Unlimited website.   And in Scotland - The Remarkable Tale of Robert Desnos at the Village Storytelling Festival We’re really pleased to be returning to Village Storytelling Festival in Glasgow for their second amazing festival, as strong a mix as last year with discussions, workshops and fantastic performances.  We are so excited to be working with two storytellers whose work we’ve enjoyed for a very long time, Clare Muireann Murphy and Daniel Morden, bringing their show inspired by the real life experiences of the surrealist poet, Robert Desnos and his time in a wartime concentration camp to the Festival in July. We’d love to see you in Zwolle or Glasgow this summer!
