Dreaming the Night Field delights audiences in Dresden, plus we have an announcement...
As the Dreaming the Night Field artists head back from Dresden today, they hand the Adverse Camber baton to Clare Murphy and Daniel Morden - performing The Remarkable Tale of Robert Desnos at the Welsh Performing Arts Festival on Thursday 3 May. And we have a VERY exciting announcement to make about Dreaming the Night Field, see below… Performing as part of Szene: Wales in Germany this weekend, receiving such a warm welcome, sharing a platform with other exciting Welsh artists and fostering strong relationships with European partners has been such a privilege. The audience response to the show has been fantastic and truly demonstrates how timeless stories cross all borders! We are very excited to announce that thanks to support from our partners in North, West and South Wales and funds from the Arts Council of Wales, we’re taking Dreaming the Night Field on a comprehensive tour of Wales from this autumn. For the first time, the show will be presented in a fully Welsh language version as well as a bilingual version - each venue choosing which they want to present, some have chosen both! This brand new tour will be taking in over ten dates including the Willow Globe, Galeri Caernarfon, Neudd Dwyfor Pwhelli, Aberystwyth and Merthyr as well as a range of village halls through the Night Out scheme. Naomi Wilds, Adverse Camber Producer said: “We are thrilled that Dreaming the Night Field has been given the thumbs up for its first Welsh tour! The show was made in Wales, thanks to the support of brilliant partners especially Felin Uchaf on the Llŷn Peninsula, Cardiff University School of Welsh and the Arts Council of Wales and we’re so thankful for their continued support. Discovering how Welsh audiences respond to this story, as it sparks to life through the spellbinding magic of live storytelling and music, is going to be fascinating for all of us. Presenting the show in Welsh for the first time adds another dimension to the performance as well as increasing the accessibility of the production to a real mix of audiences across Wales.” We will be publishing the full list of tour dates and venues very soon and can’t wait to get this epic show back on the road!
