14 Date Autumn Tour for Dreaming the Night Field Announced!
We are thrilled to announce that Dreaming the Night Field hits the road for a 14 date tour this autumn, including a Story Walk in Chester! The tour begins just up the road from our home in the historic mills of Cromford, at the Wirksworth Festival on Thursday 14 September and travels as far north as Lancaster and Settle, to Derby and Birmingham in the Midlands and all the way down to Lighthouse, Poole Centre for the Arts on the South Coast, with plenty more dates in-between. Take a look at the full list of tour dates here. Two years in the making, having explored the story's North Wales' locations and re-imagined the lives of the people of this ancient Celtic legend, Dreaming the Night Field is a spellbinding performance that will immerse you in glorious living landscapes and the brilliant night sky!
Gwydion, nephew to the king, a magician and master storyteller, provokes a war between North and South Wales, unleashing a chaos of consequences. Blodeuwedd, an intoxicatingly beautiful woman, conjured from flowers, is torn between duty and desire - with fateful results. Discover a world that's bristling with life, filled with animals, people and constellations caught between creation and destruction.
Dreaming the Night Field features the three artists who created the ever popular Hunting the Giant's Daughter - storyteller Michael Harvey, 'mesmerising' (Sunday Times) plus the exquisite music of Stacey Blythe and powerful vocals of Lynne Denman - read all about them all on our website. English and Welsh, story and song are artfully woven together for a performance that is by turns funny, powerful and poetic. Here's what audiences at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre premiere for the show in March this year, said about their experience: "FUN, WARM, ENGAGING" "VIVID, CAPTIVATING, MAGICAL" And here's the short film we made for the show - we'd love to hear what you think and please do share it with your friends! https://youtu.be/ehUGg40WaCo?list=PLIGG8hmERV98j7tTQWpXsz6ram2_YCdz2 We hope you can join us at one of this autumn's tour dates - you can already book for dates in Derby, Birmingham and Poole and we'll keeep you posted on all the others, follow us on Facebook and Twitter as new dates go live!
