More events added to the Takeover!
Thanks to funding from Arts Council England and FEST (Federation for European Storytelling), we're delighted to be able to add two more events to the Leeds Storytelling Takeover, both of which explore storytelling practice and will help develop stronger networks for storytelling and build on the idea that this art form really can change our worlds! On Friday 8 March from 12.30pm - 5pm, Storytelling and Social Transformation is an 'in conversation' discussion with presentations exploring how and why there could be more opportunities for storytelling to transform lives - a lively and friendly afternoon session including lunch, followed by just enough time to network, eat and drink before heading to the Carriageworks Studio for the Takeover's raucous launch event, the MYTH OFF! On Saturday 9 March, if you're not learning how to spin a yarn yourself with Peter Chand's Discover Storytelling workshop, from 10am - 12pm we're hosting a special session for storytellers to find out more about Adverse Camber's working methods for artist-led touring projects - Professional Progression in Performance Storytelling. With just a few weeks to go until we take over the Carriageworks Theatre with a dazzling line up of international storytellers, we simply can't wait to bring this fresh and exciting programme as part of Leeds Lit Fest. You'll have the chance to have a go at storytelling for yourself, watch our first storytelling live stream, join in discussions about how storytelling can transform lives, enjoy our headline performance, Tongue Tied and Twisted: Indian Tales with a Contemporary Twist and explore some of the most exciting stories being told today!
